In some ways, a coach is the ultimate teacher. The lessons learned during training for a physical activity can often be applied just as effectively to other challenges a student faces in life. As coaches, we believe it is our job to help athletes—in high school, college, and the pros—push their performance to the highest possible level they can. Winning an athletic competition often depends on the tiniest measurement of time, space, and distance; thus, running that extra millimeter a fraction of a second faster than you did yesterday can make all the difference between becoming the next champion or settling for second best.
